On 17 and 18 June, a Eurovision delegation visited the Illa das Esculturas circuit in Pontevedra, which will host the European Cyclo-cross Championships organised by the Galician Cycling Federation in November. In a meticulous examination of the route, the positions of fixed and mobile cameras, cranes, cameras from cables and areas for drone flights were located to guarantee spectacular coverage of the event for both sporting and tourist purposes.
The heads of Eurovision production, Marc Stanislas and Olivier Moser; the technical managers of Mediapro, Hugo Rocha and J. Correia; the head of press of the UEC, Stefano Bertolotti; the technical director of the CX Pontevedra circuit, Berto del Río; the circuit managers, Yeray del Río and Zoe del Río; and the head of communication of CX Pontevedra, Álvaro García; were part of the delegation that inspected the circuit. They spent more than 6 hours walking the 3.5 kilometres along the Illa das Esculturas, and making a projection of the location of cameras, their effect on the circuit, the public and the position of the logistics that the European Cyclo-cross Championships require.
The races to be held on Sunday 3 November, which correspond to the elite, under-23 and junior heats for both men and women, will have television coverage and international broadcasting of both the sporting successes and of Pontevedra and the wonderful Illa das Esculturas, where the European Cyclo-cross Championships will be held.
